Termite UpgradesA word of caution: Make sure you have a recent backup or, better yet, do a backup just prior to extracting the latest upgrade. If your program is not installed in the default folder (c:\data\wtr) or it is on a network or if you have any questions at all, we are always happy to assist you in this process. NOTE: Microsoft Mapi32 must be registered in the Windows registry in order to enable the e-mail features within the termite application. If, when you start your termite program, it ask for a "dll" file, then you need to download and install the Mapi32 InstallShield Setup too. STEP 1> MAPI32 InstallShield: (You must install this FIRST to upgrade to 640 or later.) Creates an entry in the Windows registry to enable launching your e-mail client from within the termite application. STEP 2> Latest Upgrade Version (675D17): Posted 07/06/2010 - (MUST INSTALL MAPI32 FIRST) - Download this file if your current termite version is 654.a.1 or later. DO NOT UPGRADE TO THIS VERSION WITHOUT BACKING UP YOUR TERMITE FOLDER (UNLESS YOU ARE ALREADY ON VERSION 640A1 OR HIGHER). THIS UPGRADE HAS MANY STRUCTURAL CHANGES TO DATA TABLES; MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THREE TIMES MORE DISK SPACE LEFT THAN THE SIZE OF YOU TERMITE FOLDER. PLEASE CONTACT EXTEC FOR ASSISTANCE WITH UPGRADE. STEP 3> Latest Upgrade Data Files (630 or later): Posted 3/22/2005 - Download this file if you have not already done so. It is necessary for versions after 630.a.1. If these files already exist, they will be skipped in the extraction so it will not hurt in any case. Windows 98 and 95 PCs only - Version (631k3): Posted 8/02/2005 - Download this file if you still have a PC running Windows 98 and your current termite version is 605.a.1 or later. Call us if your termite version is prior to 605. Previous Upgrade Version (670E1): Posted 03/14/2008 - (MUST INSTALL MAPI32 FIRST) - Download this file if you upgraded to the latest termite version is (6675D15) and had trouble with it. Full Termite ApplicationPLEASE DO NOT download the "Full Termite Application" if you are NOT a new customer (without our assistance) -- extracting a new program into your termite folder would delete all of your current data. STEP 2> Full Termite Report Writer Application (654a7): Posted 1/16/2005 - Download this file if you are looking for a new program or you are advised to do so by Extec. After downloading this file, download and install all upgrades later than 654a7. Visio Home Demo (not for sale): The current version is Visio 2003 Standard Edition and it sells for around $200.00, plus tax. This Microsoft product can be purchased at most stores that sell software, such as Fry's Electronics, CompUSA and OfficeMax. Backup Batch FilesThese batch files utilize the DOS XCOPY command to copy all files in termite program. If your program is not installed in the default folder (c:\data\wtr) then the files will not work without some modification. If you have any questions at all, we are always happy to assist you in this process. Backups should be redundant and therefore there is a different backup file for each day of the week. Backups should be verified periodically to insure that they can be used in a catastrophe. We recommend that you consult with a local computer specialist to determine the backup routine that is best for your business. Create a folder on you Desktop called "Daily Backups". Download the Zip file and extract it to "Daily Backups". After extracting, open the folder and launch the file for the current day.
